Article of choice: BBC – Sports Minister Nigel Adams say football is ‘too dependent’ on gambling
Sports minister Nigel Adams this week has claimed that the football is starting to rely too much on gambling. In 2019, the British government finally started to take steps to tackle gambling addiction. This was followed by the UK government announcing that it will ban gambling via credit card by April despite a failure to ban gambling on Christmas Day. However, Nigel Adams has targeted the FA here, continuing criticisms of it’s decision to sell it’s broadcasting rights to third-party gambling companies. This decision has been criticised across the board.
