Kieran Burt

Junior Conservative writer

Hello, my name is Kieran Burt and I am going into second year at Nottingham Trent University studying Politics and International Relations. I first developed an interest in politics through reading the Dictator’s Handbook by Alastair Smith and Bruce Bueno de Mesquita, when I was 16, and have furthered my interest by studying politics at A level and now at university. While I am primarily interested in British politics, I also have an interest in American politics, though my knowledge is less in that area and this is something I hope to improve on in the future.

I believe in the neo-liberal perspective, though I would more identify as a Conservative. I am a member of Blue Beyond activist group and of the Conservative Party. I was raised in a Conservative household so while that did have an impact on the party that I chose to support I understand politics a lot more and support them because of my own beliefs.

I chose to study Politics and International Relations to further my knowledge of politics, and to find a career involving politics, though I am not sure what that will look like yet.
