I am Max Jablonowski, a second year student studying French and Politics at the University of Exeter, and I am about to go on my year abroad to Paris to complete two internships. I was Academic Events Manager of the Politics Society in Exeter and I was privileged enough to organize events such as Question Time, co-host the 2019 General Election Hustings with MWEXE and host the Rt. Hon. James Brokenshire MP, the current Minister of State for Security.
In terms of my stance on the political spectrum, I stand in the centre-right strand and I am a huge admirer of David Cameron who was such a brilliant Prime Minister despite his failure in campaigning for ‘Remain’ in the 2016 European Union Membership. I used to be a ‘remainer’ as such but I have accepted the result of the referendum and so Brexit must be carried through to follow the principles of a democracy. Boris Johnson has done incredibly well in crushing the opposition during the General Election in 2019 and I am excited to see what changes he can make with such a considerable majority.
I am extremely excited to join POI to examine all points and opinions whether it be about the Tories policy agenda or the actions of MPs. I thoroughly believe that POI can become hugely successful and reach out any young people who feel disconnected, uneducated in terms of political developments and to raise people’s engagement.
